What Does It Mean to be a Member in Good Standing

  • As a member you are now part of the Canadian Union of Public Employees with over 760,000 members across the country representing diverse public worksites


  • You have the strength and resources of all those members behind you defending your rights at work and the rights of others


  • You need to become a member in good standing


  • To become a member in good standing, you have to attend a membership meeting and take your oath of obligation with your fellow members

  • Be an active participant in the affairs of the Union.
  • Attend membership meetings and vote on issues.
  • Attend educational courses.

  • Be eligible to be a delegate to conferences and conventions.
